Does your Gopro keep dying, freezing, corrupting your video files? Bike ride with me as I share some helpful tips!

Usually the problem is either the SD card, camera firmware, camera settings, or an overheating problem.

Try these tips!

  1. Use a Gopro recommended SD card model number: CHECK IT OUT HERE
  2. Do a full SD card format: CHECK IT OUT HERE
  3. Format the SD card using the camera.
  4. Do a manual firmware update for the camera: CHECK IT OUT HERE
  5. Factory reset your camera settings (under camera preferences).
  6. Turn off camera settings you do not use like GPS, WIFI, image stabilization (Gopro Hypersmooth).
  7. Record with a lower resolution, record with a lower frame rate FPS.
  8. Store your camera in a cool place when not in use.

NOTE: I finally completed my bike commute in this video. My two previous videos got cut short because my camera went dead.

Common Gopro Hero 8 questions

Is the Hero 8 worth buying?

In fact, just its image stabilization features alone make it one of the best action cameras on the market. However, if you are a vlogger, or spend a lot of time talking to the camera, then the front-facing microphone and optional Media Mod, Light Mod and Display Mod accessories make the GoPro HERO 8 well worth buying.

How long can a Hero 8 last?

How long does a GoPro Hero 8 battery last? The GoPro Hero 8 Black’s battery lasts for roughly 70 minutes on a single charge, when recording in 4K. However, if you record in lower resolution, you can get a better battery life.

Why is my Hero not working?

Power the camera off. Remove any accessories you have interfacing the camera, such as external microphones, external batteries, or an LCD BacPac. Make sure there’s a battery inserted or the camera is connected to an external power source via a USB cable. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds and then release.

Is Gopro 7 or 8 better?

Both the GoPro Hero 7 Black and the Hero 8 Black offer up the must have of 4K video and a frame capture rate of up to a cinematic 60fps. While we get USB-C connectivity with the Hero 7 Black, unlike different coloured models further down the Go Pro range, the GoPro Hero 7 Black also offers an HDMI port.
